The effect of an acoustic link between a buffer and a solid sample on the accuracy of the sound velocity measurements in the sample by interference techniques and, in particular, the interference acoustooptic technique [11] is considered. The phase difference between the waves going out of the sample and reflected from it, which is introduced by the acoustic link, is determined. It is demonstrated that, in the range of link thicknesses 0.1 ≤ h ≤ 1.0 μm, the correction to the sound velocity depends little on the link thickness. A procedure that allows one to determine this correction and the actual sound velocity in each specific case is proposed.
