VIENNA, Austria (ICIS)--LyondellBasell’s announcement of a planned joint venture in China to produce polyethylene (PE) and polypropylene (PP) highlights an ongoing shift in business models to serve the growing Chinese market. The US-China trade war is altering global dynamics in chemical and polymer markets as tariffs make the economics of exports more challenging and in some cases unviable.
