SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Orthoxylene (OX) spot prices in northeast Asia softened amid a slowdown in Chinese demand for derivative plasticizer products, industry sources said on Friday. The declines in downstream phthalic anhydride (PA), 2-ethylhexanol (2-EH) and dioctyl phthalate (DOP) markets exerted downward pressure on feedstock OX spot prices as several participants continued to hold a bearish market sentiment, citing prevailing weak domestic Chinese consumption.
