Ordinarily, demand from major end-use sectors tapers off as we approach year-end.However, the usual seasonality that the market has become accustomed to is not evident inthe current environment due to the well-documented absence of Chinese imports. Millscontinue to report that customers are buying as much as is available, even if it means higherinventories to close out the year. As for distributors who are typically in the midst of year-end destocking, the fear of not being able to replenish inventories in early-2019 has put a lidon any expected liquidation.
