An improved outlook for Eurozone building and construction output has strengthened extrusions demand,with CRU upgrading the 2017 growth outlook for this sector to 2% from a previous 1.7%. This is partially dueto improvements in Southern Europe. Housing starts in Spain are up, and the renovation of abandoned orold properties has increased the demand for scaffolding. In Q1 2017, Spanish housing starts had risen 28%on year, albeit from a low base level. Meanwhile, Italian construction output is forecast to rise by 1.20% y-o-yin 2017. German industrial production also strongly picked up in Q2, posting the strongest industrialproduction growth in over three years.
