摘要

Recently, mental health issues have become one of a major concerns globally including Malaysia. In the past 3 years, approximately 1 percent of Malaysians suffered mental health such as Schizophrenia. Schizophrenia is a severe mental disorder which made the sufferers has difficultieswith their cognitive abilities. Schizophrenia patients have very short attention span, low memorizing capability and difficulty to learn new things. On the other hand, researchers found the correlation between playing brain training computer games with improvement of cognitive functions amongplayers. Thus, the aim of this paper is to develop a customized brain training computer game called MindFit? specifically for Schizophrenia patients and report its usability results. The MindFit? development emphasized only on 3 aspects; attention, visual and memory. Two Schizophreniapatients were involved in the usability testing. The end results of this paper are (1) guideline which informed the MindFit? development (2) MindFit? prototype and (3) its usability result. Next, effectiveness study will be conducted in order to assess its effectiveness in improvingSchizophrenia patient’s cognitive skills.
