Mediating Roles of Attitude on Intention to Use M-Learning Among Students at Malaysian Technical Universities

Mobile technology is changing the learning platform. Learning using mobile devices via m-learning can occur anywhere and at anyplace without the face to face traditional learning. Higher education institutions around the world will need to consider how to make the most of these newopportunities to be competitive in the marketplace. Researchers advocated that there is a need to investigate students’ attitudes towards m-learning. Thus, this study has been carried out to investigate the mediating role of attitude on intention to use m-learning. Technology acceptancemodel (TAM) was adopted the research framework. A total of 400 duly completed survey questionnaires was collected via purposeful structured random sampling and self-administrated survey questionnaire. The level of perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, and attitude towards the intentionto use m-learning were all rated at high level. The hypotheses formulated were tested using SPSS AMOS. It was found that perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use have significant influence with user attitude to use m-learning, however, both of these variables do not influence on thebehavioral intention to use m-learning. User attitude was to have significant influence behavioral intention to use m-learning. Finally, it was found that perceived usefulness and user attitude fully mediated on both the relationships between perceived usefulness and perceived ease with behavioralintention to use m-learning.
