US products prices fell in the wake of lower crude values, and Gulf coast exports remained slow, even after ports mostly returned to normal after Hurricane Laura passed the region in late August. Some refnery problems remained in Louisiana and east Texas owing to damaged transmission lines and intermittent power cuts, respectively, limiting output. Gulf coast gasoline fell below $1.20/USG on 4 September, as trade shifted to lower-value winter specifcations. But thin summer gasoline supplies in New York Harbor ahead of the transition to winter grades pushed up prices in the region, amid a shortage of imports from the Gulf coast and limited production. Atlantic coast gasoline stocks fell to their lowest since March.
