This spring, for the first time in its 80-year history, the Maritime Lumber Bureau (MLB) held its annual meeting outside the Maritimes - strictly speaking. Delegates gathered June 18-20 in the historic and happening city of St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador - taking the opportunity to see some new scenery, enjoy the province's famous hospitality, and learn about a wood supply chain that is somewhat separated from the rest of the region."We had a lot of positive feedback," said Kevin Merriam, the MLB's executive director. "Some said it was among the best conventions that they've been to. Every year we try to improve a bit and we try to do something a little bit different."
