The Goodenia family is a large and important component of the Australian flora. It occurs in all states of Australia, and a few species have found their way "overseas". As is not unusual, it is well represented in Western Australia, with some genera occurring only there. It contains many well-known species, several of which have been adapted to gardens (and many more that could be).
