The U.S. is taking a backward-looking approach to trade as the rest of the world moves forward, former U.S. Trade Representatives warned on Monday. "The world trading system has been an incredible blessing for this country, of course, but [also] for the world, for 70 or 80 years and we seem to be walking away from that intellectually [and] politically," Bill Brock, who served as USTR in the Reagan administration, said at an event hosted by the Center for Strategic and International Studies.
