摘要

Palmprint is one of the most reliable and interesting biometrics recognition over other biometrics in recent era. Palmprint features provide several benefits rather than other sources of biometrics such as non-invasive, feature uniqueness and stability. Palmprint identification system has been developed for both civilian and forensic applications. In recent research, contactless palmprint identification has got more attention due to its stability and usage in various public domain applications with less sanitary issues. However, in contactless non-invasive imaging, Scaling, Rotation and Translation invariant feature extraction is an important study in order to implement in public domain applications. In this paper we propose a second quadrant keypoint localization method to deal with variations in appearance in unconstrained palmprint imaging. This method can robustly estimate and correct variations in pose as compare with the traditional contactless palmprint recognition methods such as Line based, Subspace based, Texture based, Code based and Multifeature based
