The last couple of years have seen a big move toward the, moving of fertile turkey eggs through the postal system and this has certainly helped get traditional turkeys to locations that had been difficult in the past. Although we regularly send surplus fertile eggs throughout Europe ourselves I fully accept that a postal journey is not without its problems and can significantly diminish hatchability. However it is a solution to getting more birds out there, and on a positive note we have managed to get successful hatchings from posted eggs to remote Scottish Islands, throughout Europe and as far away as the Azores.
