GC: How has the supply of granulated blast furnace slag (GBFS) changed since we spoke in 2019? Charlie Zeynel (CZ): The major change over the past 12 months has been the emergence of new entrants from South East Asia onto the GBFS export scene. They have been coming up over the past 2-3 years, but the past 12 months have seen them really ramp up production of their new blast furnaces, generating something in the region of 2-3Mt of GBFS. This has relieved some of the pressure being faced by the Japanese producers, who had been sold out for quite some time.
