Singapore imports up to 90 per cent of its food from multiple countries to avoid reliance on any one country or region. But while its focus may be on importing produce, this island of innovation also has the potential to value add and develop high-endfood products.The market potential for countries such as Singapore is huge - the ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) region is home to approximately 625 million people and with China and India included, the potential market extends to over 3.1 billion people.
