BAUS recommends increasing the use of day-case surgery for urological procedures. To complement this initiative the British Association of Day Surgery (BADS) has increased the list of procedures that should be considered for day surgery . This expansion needs to be monitored through audit, to ensure that we provide a quality service. Both cancellation and re-admission rates are readily available outcome variables for audit.
