A 1bn pounds mining project is on-track to start digging up the site's first tonnages of polyhalite several months earlier than expected in the North York Moors National Park. Sirius Minerals signed a deal with DMC Mining Services to build four shafts, which could accelerate the first mining of a mineral used for farmland fertiliser by up to six months.
