Signs of weakening prices in the Chinese market have begun to filterinto other regions, with most markets slowing down as of last week.China’s top economic planner and steel industry association said steelprices in China will not jump any further in the short term given“already very high steel margins” and persisting oversupply, industrywatchers and the China Iron & Steel Association (CISA) both said. “Dueto increased capacity utilization and elevated inventory levels, goingforward, steel prices will find it difficult to rise sharply, and will assumea state of fluctuation,” CISA said in its market outlook dated March 15.
