We are all aware of the vision and rationale for having more trees in Scotland, and the clamour for doing so is louder than ever, but how do we turn vision into reality? How do we get from here to there and how long will it take?The current planting targets of 15,000ha a year were articulated first in the Scottish Forestry Strategy of 2006. It looks now as if they will start to be delivered by 2025,20 years after they were first agreed. It appears that government has finally woken up, and is at last trying to develop the capacity we need to deliver our aspirations through consistent messaging, policy and funding. Thank you Greta.
