Wipro Consumer Care and Lighting crossed the billion-dollar revenue mark in 2017-2018. India business that includes (consumer care, lighting and furniture) accounts for 50 per cent of revenues while exports also contribute equally. The company has facilities in Amalner (Maharashtra), Tumkur district (Karnataka) and Baddi (near Chandigarh) and Waluj (Maharashtra). The company is strengthening its manufacturing and R&D with an aim to roll out new products and expand its footprint with existing products. "We plan to set up two manufacturing units, one in Telangana and another in China," Prasanna Rai, VP, Marketing, Wipro Consumer Care & Lighting, told media. He declined to divulge more details on these units at this stage. The company has 15 manufacturing facilities spread across India, China, Malaysia, Indonesia and Vietnam, and a total workforce of over 10,000. "The global beauty market is witnessing a shift away from tra- ditional brick and mortar to online and specialty retailers. In line with this, we are also building an e-commerce team to work separately on the supply chain, bringing in an international product assortment," he informed.
