摘要

In the earlier phases, the soil and water conservation programme were mainly confined to technology improvement of agriculture lands and contour bunding was the principal technology of soil and water conservation. Through adoption of better methods and technology, cropping patterns and diversification of sources of income improvement may be sustainable. The main focus of such watershed project involves land water management through soil and water conservation. The present study was carried out in Umarban block of Dhar district. This block was purposively selected for the study. Representative samples of 60 adopted farmers were drawn from three selected villages of the block. To observe knowledge and adoption in respect of improved soil and water conservation methods and technology and 60 non-adopted farmers from non watershed area were also selected randomly. Thus, the total sample consisted of 120 farmers.
