The present paper provides ethnomedicinal data on 15 plant species utilized by the Irula tribes of Tadagam Reserve Forest, of which 11 are first hand. The Irula tribe is a Dravidian tribe distributed throughout the states of Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Karnataka. They constitute the second largest tribe next to Malayans in Tamil Nadu. They are seattered in Coimbatore, South and North Arcot as well as Nilgiri districts. The total Irula ethnic population of Coimbatore district was 10,455 (Anonymous, 1995).
