Fungicides containing two modes of action were evaluated as a solo and tank mix treatments with Feast XL (26-0-0 + 0.5% B) for frogeye leaf spot control and added yield enhancement. This trial was located at the Newport Extension Station in Newport, AR in a field of Dundee silt loam previously cropped to soybean. The soybean cultivar 'Armor DK 4744' was planted on 8 Jun at a seeding rate of 150,000 seed/A. Weeds were controlled using Gramoxone (48 fl oz/A), Valor (2 oz/A), and NIS (0.25 % v/v) applied pre plant on 8 Jun followed by Roundup (32 oz/A) and Prefi (2.3 pt/A) applied post emergence on 29 Jun. Plots consisted of eight, 58-ft long rows spaced 30-in apart. The experimental design was a randomized complete block design with four replications.A 7 ft alley was cut between plots at harvest. Plots were inoculated with several different isolates of strobilurin-insensitive Cercospora sojina on 26 Jul and irrigated overhead to promote disease development. Rainfall and irrigation during the cropping period totaled 18.73 in. with monthly totals as follows: Jun, 2.42 in.; Jul, 3.79 in.; Aug, 5.41 in.; Sep, 2.7 in; Oct, 4.41 in. Monthly average maximum air temperatures were 88°F Jun, 91°F Jul, 87°F Aug, 87°F Sep, and 78°F Oct. Monthly average minimum air temperatures were, 71°F Jun, 73°F Jul, 72°F Aug, 65°F Sep, and 55°F Oct. Fungicides and fertilizer treatments were broadcast through flat-fan nozzles (Tee-Jet 110015VS) spaced 30 in. apart on the four center row per plot using an air pressurized multi-boom plot sprayer. The sprayer was calibrated to deliver 15 gal/A at 32 psi. Treatments were applied at R3 growth stage on 9 Aug. Frogeye leaf spot severity was assessed at 0 and 21 days after treatment (DAT) based on percent leaf area affected of the upper 1/3 of the plant canopy. Disease severity ratings were collected using a 0-100 percent scale. Plots were harvested on 19 Oct using a K Gleaner combine equipped with a HarvestMaster Single BDS HiCap HM800 Weigh System. Data were subject to ANOVA using Agricultural Research Manager Software (version 9.0) and means were compared using Tukey's hones significant difference test (P = 0.05).
