New statistical models will have to be developed before the EU can carry out effective assessments of cumulative risks of pesticides. This is the conclusion of a study commissioned by the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) on the cumulative exposure assessment of triazole pesticides. The EFSA is looking at ways to assess cumulative and synergistic risks to consumers from pesticides in food (Agrow No 576, p 10).
