US legislation aimed at overturning the requirement for Clean Water Act (CWA) permits for pesticides applied over or near water cleared its initial hurdles this month. The Reducing Regulatory Burdens Bill of 2011 (HR 872) was passed by the House Agriculture Committee on March 9th and by the House Committee on Transportation and infrastructure on March 16th.
