UK-based farm inputs purchasing co-operative Atlasfram (Woodbridge, Suffolk) has predicted price increases for crop protection products in the UK in 2010. It says that increased plantings of wheat and oilseed rape would lead to greater demand for agrochemicals this year. With very few active ingredients being produced in the UK, Altlasfram foresees price instability as they would reflect "currency rates and global market conditions".

7. Commodity prices have risen sharply since 2006. This may benefit developing countries specialized on primary exports, but poverty may increase. Uruguay is a net exporter of primary products and a net importer of oil. With the aim of analyzing the impact of soaring commodity prices and policy options, we apply a CGE model and microsimulations.
