Research carried out in Australia indicates that the risk of cross pollination from genetically modified canola plants is extremely low and that GMO-free zones are therefore unnecessary. The extensive study was carried out with non-GM herbicide-tolerant canola, but it has "major implications" for GM crops as the pollen travels in exactly the same way, the researchers point out.
