A recovery in Monsanto's Latin American business together with earlier demand for Roundup(glyphosate)herbicide in the US resulted in a 21.5% increase in sales to 1,028 million in the first quarter of the company's new fiscal year.The three-month period ending November 30th is now largely defined by the selling period in Latin America,which is Monsanto's second most important market after the US,accounting for about 20% of overall annual revenues.
