Diaporone A (1), one new dihydroisocoumarin derivative and four known alpha-dibenzopyrones, alternariol (2), 5'-hydroxyalternariol (3), alternariol 4,10-dimethyl ether (4), and alternariol 4-methyl ether (5) were isolated from the crude extract of the plant endophytic fungus Diaporthe sp. Their structures were determined on the basis of spectroscopic analysis, including 1D and 2D NMR techniques as well as HRESIMS and comparison with data from the literature. The absolute configuration of 1 was assigned by electronic circular dichroism (ECD) calculations. Compound 1 showed moderate antibacterial activity against Bacillus subtilis with the MIC value of 66.7 mu M, and exhibited weak cytotoxicity against human cervical carcinoma (HeLa) cell line with IC50 value of 97.4 mu M.
