With greater focus on preven-tative care and wellness, advanced practice registered nurses (APRNs) are positioned to provide exemplary primary care at more affordable prices. Nurse practitioners, certified nurse midwives, certified registered nurse anesthetists, and clinical nurse specialists (CNSs) have attained advanced preparation and are poised to lead improvement initiatives within the healthcare system. The concept of servant leadership harmoniously supports the dual APRN roles of healthcare provider and healthcare system leader (Trastek, Hamilton, & Niles, 2014).
