摘要

Although paraquat (PQ) is a prominent and effective herbicide, it is hazardous to human health. Therefore, it is important to develop a method for selective detection of PQ. A novel pyrenyl salicylic acid fluorophore (Compound 2) was successfully synthesized using the Suzuki reaction and a hydrolysis reaction for PQ detection with a fluorescent turn-off mode. When PQ was added, Compound 2 acted as a highly selective and sensitive fluorescent PQ sensor in 100% aqueous media. The linear relationship between the fluorescence intensity and the concentration of PQ was in the range of 1.00 mu M-100 mu M. The detection limit of the method was 69.4 mu g L-1 (0.270 mu M), below the 200 mu g L-1 limit recommended by the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Additionally, Compound 2 was applied to measure the concentration of PQ in real samples.
