Anna-Marie Murphy got more than her money's worth from her horticultural education. Along with her degree from Auburn University, Auburn, AL, she spent part of one semester in England and 10 days last summer in Europe. In doing so, she earned credit hours that allowed her to graduate early, plus she gained a rare worldly experience that few students enjoy. Study-abroad programs are somewhat new at Auburn, but they are becoming immensely popular with both students and faculty. "We will have our thirdclass of students spend about seven weeks on the campus of Myerscough Agricultural College in Bilsborrow, England, this summer," says Dr. Jeff Sibley, associate dean of the Auburn graduate school and professor and director of the Auburn University Horticulture Study Abroad Program. "This will bring us to about 50 students and faculty [who] have participated in the program since it began in the summer of 2005."
