摘要

Mass attenuation coefficients from nine most comprehensive sources are compared. Mass attenuation coefficients of analytical lines of petrogenic elements and spectral regions in the vicinity of their absorption jumps are investigated. The scatter in the intensities of analytical lines calculated using coefficients from different tables decreases significantly as one goes from absolute to relative intensities. One of the reasons is the internal consistency of data in the tables. Therefore, it is better to use data from a single source in calculations. In the case of excitation of X-ray fluorescence by mixed primary radiation of an X-ray tube under a voltage of 25-50 kV, only a few of the discussed sources are suitable for calculating the mass attenuation coefficients of radiation for all the wavelengths related to a single analytical problem.
