A tumor of the pelvis in a 12-year-old female Akita Dog with posterior paralysis was assessed pathologically. Histological examination revealed proliferation of ovoid, spindle-shaped and polygonal tumor cells with osteoid and bone formation, and transmission electron microscopy revealed various neoplastic mesencymal cells including os-teoblasts, chondroblasts and fibroblasts. The tumor was diagnosed as an osteosar-coma.
