Tourism is one of the world's largest industries. While this might make the world seem like a smaller place, the animal exploitation you may witness on holiday can make you feel a million miles from home. Around the world, rare species continue to besavagely killed for souvenirs and thousands of animals are imprisoned in zoos and circuses for entertainment. Witnessing animal cruelty or neglect whilst on holiday is a distressing experience, and you may feel frustrated in your apparent powerlessness to do anything about it. Unsurprisingly, WSPA receives hundreds of reports on animal cruelty abroad from tourists each year.
