Sasol(Johannesburg,South Africa)says that following a stringent evaluation process,it has selected Enaex(Santiago,Chile),a subsidiary of the Sigdo Koppers Group,as its preferred partner to form an explosives joint venture(JV).The companies,both leading players in the civil explosives market,first announced a possible alliance in July.Sasol and Enaex will file an application with the South African Competition Commission for approval of the proposed JV.Following approval,the partners will form a new company and Sasol will transfer its explosives business to the company as a going concern.Enaex,as majority shareholder,will take over management and operational control of the new company.
