India's biotechology industry is viewed as a next big opportunity for the nation after software development. Even though in global biotech market, India's share is presently just about 2% the future seems very bright. According to the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), the consumption of bio-tech products in India was valued at US1789 million during 1999, which is expected to grow upto US4270 million by the year 2010. India's rich human capital is the strongest asset for this knowledge based industry.
