摘要

Information personnel are conducting studies on citation analysis or bibliometric analysis in subject areas of their institutions for knowing the extent of utility of journals, monographs, conference proceedings and other literature available in their library. The present article on bibliometric analysis of contributions of the journal Tobacco Research was done for the years 1987-1997. Discusses the type of contributions and their distribution over the years 1987-97 in Tobacco Research. Analysed the contributing Institutions and authorship pattern, listed the types of citations in the journal, prepared a core list of journals useful for Tobacco Research and tabulated the distribution of articles with citations in different types of tobacco and its disciplines. Distribution pattern of publications with citations was given. Analysed all the citations and conclusions given at the end.
