At retail bellwether John Lewis, new experiences in 2017 have included sleepovers in shops, live cooking demonstrations with Jamie Oliver and Rick Stein, high tea in a Wedgwood pop-up tearoom and yoga and boxing workouts on the rooftop of its Oxford Street store.The high street department store says millenni-als are driving this appetite for unique shopping experiences, with younger John Lewis customers twice as likely to do a leisure activity or have a beauty treatmenL while out shopping than those who are more mature. They are also three times as likely to take in an activity such as bowling when out shopping.
