Cuts to public health services in England are "deeply disappointing" and will have a knock-on effect on the NHS, the UK Faculty of Public Health has warned. The Department of Health for England has announced that it will press ahead with a flat rate cut of 6.2% to the public health grant for all 152 local authorities across England, despite repeated warnings that cuts would be a false economy and inevitably impinge on NHS services. The announcement comes after Chancellor George Osborne cut ￡200m off the 2015-16 public health settlement in June.
