The optimization potentials in mechanical engineering and plant manufacturing are not explored in many fields. A large part of these potentials are to he found in the correct transmission engineering, for instance in the gear units. A manufacturer of gear units has developed and produced new worm and cylindrical gear units by using modern processes which offer better values regarding efficiency and life.
