Ovarian cancer is the second most common gynecologic malignancy and is the fifth leading cause of cancer death in women. Imaging plays several critical roles in ovarian cancer: Detection, characterization, and staging. Imaging is also very important for the characterization of ovarian masses, since benign masses outnumber malignant masses. This article reviews the applications of different imaging modalities in the evaluation of ovarian cancer.
