The world is at a turning point. We are headed into the "Perfect Storm of an interconnected financial, ecological, and social crisis." And time is not on our side: "the decisions we take over the coming decade will shape our common future." The warning signs are for all to see: (1) the moral crisis of a planetary society endowed with plenty, that is shared with so few; (2) we remain in the midst of a global financial crisis; improved financial oversight has started, but the pace is glacial; (3) we have witnessed a food crisis due to the rapid rise of food prices; (4) the global ecological crisis now affects us all and will do so well into the future; climate change will only make matters worse; (5) a global unemployment crisis is upon us now; "unemployment remains the single largest global failure."
