zolam/midazolam AUC ratio as a measures of P450 3A4 activity. Methods Fifteen healthy, young Chinese male volunteers, after collecting morning urine (from 0 to 8 o'clock), take 7.5mg midazolam orally. 5 ml blood samples were obtained prior to administration and at 15, 30, 45, 60, 90, 120, 180, 240, and 300, 360, 480 minutes after drug administration. Plasma concentrations of midazolam and l'-hydroxymidazolam were determined by HPLC-UV; urinary cortisol and 6 beta-hydroxycortisol concentration were also determined by HPLC-UV.
