Through small incisions, an arthroscopeis inserted into the joint of a horseallowing visualisation of the jointinterior. The arthroscope is attachedto an Endoscopic Video Camera forviewing on a video monitor. SpecializedArthroscopic instruments pass throughseparate cannula or ports that canthen be used for removing debris andfragments as well as removing damagedcartilage, membrane and bone. A steadystream of fluid is flushed through thejoint at high pressure during proceduresusing a Fluid Pump to aid in removal of debris and to keep the surgery fieldclear.
