摘要

A PASSIONATE advocate of growing indigenous plants that can cope with the impacts of climate change, West Australian plant physiologist, Dr Julie Plummer, will take her "grow local" message to the international stage next year. Associate professor with the School of Plant Biology at the University of Western Australia, Dr Plummer has been invited to co-convene the symposium on ornamentals as part of the International Horticultural Congress to be held in Portugal in August 2010. The congress is hosted every four years by the International Society of Horticultural Scientists and Dr Plummer is a former chair of the society's New Floricultural Crops section (1996-1999).
