An investigation was undertaken to study in-vivo effect of Jasmonic acid foliar spray at 25, 50, 100 and 200 ug/ml on resistance in tomato inoculated with Meloidogyne incognita. It was observed that with respect to plant growth parameters like shoot length, shoot weight, root length and root weight in both susceptible (Pusa Ruby) and resistant (Hisar Lalit) cultivars increased significantly at 30 days after inoculation (DAI). Nematode penetration, root galling, final population build up reduced significantly in susceptible cultivar. Interestingly, there was root galling, population buildup in resistant cultivar, which can be correlated with the cross talk between Salicylic acid and Jasmonic acid. Percentage changes in the amount of JA recovered wasmore pronounced in susceptible cultivar than in resistant ones and more in shoots than in root.
