Tucked in a double unit of a nondescript industrial park building behind the Lehigh Valley International Airport is a small but remarkable collection of vehicles. There are just over a dozen of them on display, but these rare and historicworkhorses are worth the visit.The trucks-and bus-in the Mack Trucks Historical Museum are rather simply displayed, many not surrounded by the usual ropes museums use to discourage would-be Edmund Hillarys from scaling the exhibits, so it is easy to walk around and look in and under.If decorations here are sparse, that's because the museum's location is temporary. America on Wheels, scheduled to open in Allentown in 2002, will absorb the trucks into its multi-vehicle collection. The Mack Trucks Historical Museum, as well as showingoff bits of Mack Truck history, serves as a preview center for the 100,000-square-foot America on Wheels Museum, which will be situated on 27 acres of the Lehigh River's west bank.
