摘要

Experiments were conducted to test the antifeedancy activity of four zingiberaceous plant extracts viz., grains of pleasure, Aframomum melegueta Rose, galangal, Alpinia galanga (L.), turmeric, Curcuma longa L. and ginger, Zingiber officinale Rose, against 3rd instar. (24 h. starved) grubs of Athalia proxima Klug. (Hymenoptera: Tenthridinidae) in laboratory. Among these, A. melegueta (AI_(50) velence 0.018) had the highest activity. The sequence of median antifeedancy index (AI_(50) velence) and protection was in the descending order (on the basis of AI_(50)) of A. galanga (0.432) >Z. officinale (0.429) > C. longa (0.411) followed by the A. melegueta (0.004), which is taken as unit.
