"Production economics in crossbred cows is highly profitable. This has been established through a cross sectional study of crossbred cows in Akola district of Maharashtra. Net profit per litre of milk is highest in the farms with medium sized land holdings (2-8 ha of cultivated land), compared to their bigger counterparts. Likewise, the farms with medium agricultural holding each highest profit per annum and output-input ratio is most favourable. Given the findings it is suggested that there are increasing scopes for popularizing milk production through crossbred cows."
